Call for Nominations, 2012 Athletic Hall of Fame
Nominations are now being accepted for the Valley Forge Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2012. To be inducted into the VFMAC Athletic Hall of Fame, the inductee must fall into one of the following three catogories:
Student/Athlete:
1. Must be a graduate of VFMA&C.
2. Earned a varsity letter in at least one sport.
3. Have graduated at least (10) years prior to induction.
4. Open to former team captains, MVP’s and student/athletes with local, state, or national recognition.
5. Open to graduates that were selected for one of the end of year athletic awards (Wood or Strunk medal, Coach Blank, Dave Trainer award, or Col. Infortuna Award) and or who have gone on to achieve athletic success at either the collegiate, professional, or Olympic level.
Coach/Teacher/Administrator:
1. Made a significant contribution to the Valley Forge Athletic Department
2. Must have five (5) years of service to VFMA&C
3. The inductee does NOT have to be a VFMA&C graduate
Others:
1. Someone who may not be an alumnus of Valley Forge, but has had a major impact on the VFMA&C Athletic Department
2. An inductee who is an alumnus that may or may not have been a varsity letter winner, but who has made a significant contribution to the VFMA&C Athletic Department.

2011 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
The 2011 Athletic Hall of Fame nominations were inducted on April 29 during Alumni Homecoming Weekend. Please join us in congratulating the following inductees:
James Davis ’78 - Played football, basketball, and baseball. Wood medal winner, and 1st-Team All Bicentennial League in Baseball, as well as playing point guard on the Bicentennial League championship basketball team. A member of C Company. Organizations: Varsity Club Athletics: Varsity Football, Basketball, and Varsity Baseball (MVP).
Gilbert “Skip” Benjamin ’63C - Skip has been an avid supporter and benefactor to VFMA wrestling program and the Cadet Invitational Wrestling Tournament since 1986. He was a member of D Troop, Staff Sergeant, Motor Sergeant. Cadet Awards: Sharpshooter’s Medal. Athletics: Intramural Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball. His record shows that he is a past Board of Trustee’s member, and formerly on the AABOD.
James K. Pownall ’60 - Football/Track & Field Co-Captain of the football and track teams. Set records at the Penn Relays that stood for 20 years. A member of B Company. Awards: Superintendent’s Award, Physical Training Award, Sharpshooter Medal. Athletics: Varsity Football, Track & Field.
