Tax Incentives

In some circumstances the United States' federal government provides tax relief for educational expenses.

VF financial aid is normally awarded over the summer on an annual basis and involves filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be filed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Mid-year financial aid applications are considered on a case-by-case basis consistent with budgetary availability.

For the Band and Choir, the application process includes a mandatory audition.
For Athletics, there is additional material required by the Director of Athletics.

Outside Grants And Scholarships

Many organizations and foundations give money to students meeting their application criteria. Examples of these criteria are listed below. A helpful resource for locating such scholarships is FastWeb.com.

  • civic, ethnic, and religious organizations;
  • social groups/clubs;
  • the Boy Scouts;
  • the Armed Services;
  • Veterans groups;
  • labor unions; and,
  • parental employers and professional organizations.

Student & Parent Loans

Valley Forge participates in the Federal Direct Loan Program.  Students and Parents can apply for loans online at www.studentloans.gov

VFMC will also certify loans from lenders offering non-federally guaranteed, "alternative" loans that can help you to bridge the gap between your financial aid package and your educational costs.
